Professional Background

Jacques Babin has a Ph.D. in Human Sexuality from the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists and is board certified by the American Board of Sexology. His Ph.D. dissertation is entitled Forensic Sexology: An Analysis of Evidence Receivability, Confidentiality, Privilege and Privacy.

Jacques is a law professor, specializing in criminal and evidence law and is very familiar with both Canadian and American legal systems. He has delivered presentations and workshops to various professional groups throughout North America which include: sexologists, social workers, mental health professionals, educators, counsellors, and lawyers, among others. Many of these have been offered in both English and French.

As a lawyer, Jacques has been a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada for the past 22 years. He is also a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists, the World Initiative for Sexuality, and he is a diplomate of the American Board of Sexology. He has also recently joined the faculty at the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists.
